The Oktoberfest features a high quality craftshow with up to 75 craftspersons bringing their handmade crafts in many medias. It's a great place for holiday shopping, for gifts, or for items for your own use and enjoyment. This year's event will be held October 10, 2009. The rain date is October 17.
Enjoy German music, German food, and soft drinks; Korean delicacies; inflatable games; canoe rides; visit the craft fair; win valuable prizes; and visit the Demarest Nature Center and environmental information tables.

Directions to Oktoberfest:
Oktoberfest takes place between the Demarest Train Station and the Duck Pond, right in the middle of Demarest, NJ. It's easy to get to - just follow these Mapquest Directions. For a map of the Nature Center and Downtown Demarest, take a look at our maps and directions page.

Trial of the Trails!
5k and Fun Run, Rain or Shine
Two races on the trails of the beautiful Demarest Nature Center. The Trail Fun Run (1-mile) is open to ages 6 and up, including adults. The 5K Trail Run (3.1-mile), which includes all but one trail on the DNC's 55 acres, is for ages 9 and up, including adults. Wakelee Field Playground, registration is at 8:00 am, rain or shine. Registration forms will be sent home the second week of September from the schools, or can be downloaded here: Trail Run Registration (PDF).

DNCA Environmental Studies Scholarship
The Demarest Nature Center Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to assist a graduating senior pursuing study of, or related to, the environment. The requirements are on the Education page; you can also download the scholarship details here.
